What you get

  • A parent report the moment the practice test ends, no account: answers by paper, where to start, and three short sessions for this week.
  • Print it or save it as a PDF. Saving to a free account is optional.

How the range is worked out

  1. Each question has a difficulty level from our Bucks question bank. Difficulty levels are set by our question writers.
  2. We find the ability that best explains how many your child got right, allowing for how hard those questions were. Half the questions are verbal and a quarter each maths and non-verbal, close to the test's own 50 : 25 : 25 weighting.
  3. We turn that into a place among the 7,737 children tested in 2024 and read the score at that place off the Council's published score list.
  4. A score of 121 or more qualifies. With 15 questions the range is wide; a full timed mock narrows it a lot.

Questions

Is this an official Bucks 11+ paper?

No. The questions are our own, written to the GL format the Buckinghamshire test uses, and each one was solved independently by two solvers. The Council publishes a familiarisation booklet.

How accurate is the score?

It is a range, because 15 questions cannot pin down one score. A full timed Bucks mock covers far more of the test.

How long does it take?

16 minutes: verbal 7, maths 5 and non-verbal 4. The real test is two papers of about an hour each.

Do we need an account?

No. A parent report shows straight away: answers by paper, where to start and three sessions for this week, to print or save as a PDF. A free account is optional; it keeps the report and works through every answer.

How many children pass the Bucks 11+?

In 2024, 3,046 of the 7,737 children tested (39%) scored 121 or more. Qualifying is not an offer: places go by each school's admission rules.
