You don't have to teach it

Questions parents ask

Is this the real CSSE test?

No. CSSE papers are not reused. Every question here is our own, written in the same style.

Is there verbal or non-verbal reasoning?

No. The CSSE test is English and maths only. Applied reasoning left the English paper from the September 2024 test.

How is the writing marked?

CSSE marks it as part of English. Here your child writes in the lesson, ticks a checklist and compares with a model answer.

Does a score of 303 get a place?

No. 303 is the lowest score that can get a CSSE offer. Each school then ranks by its own rules, and most last places sit well above it.

What about Chelmsford County High?

CCHS runs its own four-paper FSCE test, not CSSE. Our course prepares for CSSE.
