How the places are offered

From the admission policy for September 2027 entry.

Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming Kendrick are admitted first.
Every girl is ranked by her test result. The school sets a qualifying score each year, to two decimal places. Girls in categories 1 and 2 need a qualifying score 5 points lower.
1. Looked-after and previously looked-after children.
2. Girls receiving Pupil Premium or Service Premium on 31 August 2026 who live in Priority Area 1 or 2.
3. Up to 75% of places (96) in rank order to girls living in Priority Area 1 or 2.
4 to 6. The remaining 25% (32) in rank order: Priority Area 1 first, then Priority Area 2, then girls living outside the designated area.
Girls in categories 1 and 2 who reach the lower qualifying score are offered a place even if they are not ranked in the top 128. The total stays at 128.

Kendrick does not publish the qualifying score in advance: it is set after the test each year. For September 2026 entry the school's results FAQ gave 99.00 for categories 3 to 6 and 94.00 for categories 1 and 2 (the total standardised score of both papers); 347 of 704 candidates in categories 3 to 5 reached 99.00. A 2026 score is history, not the 2027 standard. The address that counts is the girl's permanent home with her parent or carer on 31 August 2026, and she must still live there when she starts. The school checks addresses after offers and can withdraw an offer made on a temporary address or an address of convenience.

The entrance test

Two papers of about one hour each, with a short break between them.
Questions cover verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and mathematics, in multiple-choice format.
There is no creative writing element.
GL Assessment marks the papers and age-standardises the scores; the ranking uses the total of both papers' standardised scores.

Kendrick does not share 11+ scores with any other school. Kendrick offers no alternative date if its test clashes with another school's test. You choose which test to sit. Another date is possible only in exceptional circumstances, with evidence.

Kendrick publishes free GL Assessment familiarisation booklets with answers. The school describes them as about 10 hours of material and says they are not definitive: a question type in them may not appear in the test.

Waiting list

For September 2026 entry, girls scoring 99.00 or above went on the waiting list unless they were offered a higher preference school or did not name Kendrick. Girls in Priority Area 1 are ranked above Priority Area 2 regardless of score.
On 2 March 2026 there were 179 girls on the waiting list. The school's page, read 26 September 2026, says the list has moved 4 places since 2 March 2026.
For September 2025 entry the waiting list moved 7 places before 1 September 2025.

Friday 18 September 2026, in a morning or afternoon session at the school, for girls living in the designated area. Registration ran online from 1 May to midnight on 1 July 2026. Girls living outside the designated area sit on a later date the school has not yet published.
