Questions people ask

When are 11+ results released in 2026?

Most areas send results in mid-October, a couple of weeks before the council application deadline. For September 2027 entry: Bucks on 9 October, Medway on 14 October, Kent on 15 October, Birmingham on 16 October and Wirral on 21 October 2026.

When is the 11+ exam in 2027?

Most 11+ tests are in early to mid-September of Year 6. For September 2028 entry most councils publish exact dates in spring 2027, so pick your area above to see what is out.

Do I still need to apply after the 11+ results?

Yes. The test only shows whether your child qualifies. You still name grammar schools on your council's secondary application by its deadline (31 October in most areas, 2 November 2026 in Kent), and offers come on 1 March.

What is National Offer Day?

1 March, when every council in England tells families which secondary school place they have been offered. In 2027 it is Monday 1 March.

Method

  1. Every date is copied from the council's or school's own admissions page for September 2027 entry.
  2. A date the source gives only as a month or 'mid-October' stays that way; we never guess the day.
  3. Next year's test date is shown only once it is published. Until then you see last year's date, labelled as last year's.
