CCHS and the FSCE test

Chelmsford County High School for Girls runs its own test, separate from CSSE.

  • Four papers: Adventure, Beacon, Compass and Discovery.
  • Questions draw on any primary subject taught up to the end of Year 5.
  • Recorded instructions run the test.
  • The papers are age-standardised. Children who reach the standard then have Discovery marked by a school panel.

Places and priority, 2027

After children in care and with an EHCP, 144 places go to girls inside 12.5 miles (up to 30 of them Pupil Premium or Service Premium). Up to 36 more go by score wherever a girl lives.
