Open the GL free-materials source above. Select materials for English, verbal reasoning, maths and non-verbal reasoning, then read the instructions with your child. Use the council source to confirm the local combination. The invitation supplies the actual duration and permitted items, so do not impose a generic booklet’s clock as an official Redbridge rule.

Separate the subject from the answer sheet

• Let your child solve a small set without a clock first.
• Ask for one explanation: a passage detail, a number method or a pattern rule.
• Check whether a wrong answer came from the subject or from transferring it to the sheet.
• Repeat the method with a fresh question, rather than asking your child to memorise a sample answer.

Check that the resource names the intended entry year and distinguishes its own questions from official materials. Ask for worked explanations and a sample before buying a large bundle. In Year 4, use a small task to find the next skill; add timing when the method is secure.
