Tiffin entry: questions parents ask
What is the Tiffin pass mark?
Neither school has a pass mark. Places go in order of the final combined mark. At Tiffin School the lowest score offered a place on 1 March 2026 was 100 (104 in 2024, 100 in 2025). The Tiffin Girls' School does not publish a score.
What is in the Tiffin entrance exam?
Both schools test English and maths in two stages. Stage One is answered on a computer-marked sheet. Stage Two is written English and maths, by invitation only.
When are Tiffin Stage Two invitations sent?
On or around 14 October 2026 for Tiffin Girls and 16 October 2026 for Tiffin School. A child who is not invited cannot be offered a place, so check before the 31 October application deadline.
Does the Stage One score count at the end?
Only the maths part. At Tiffin School, Stage One maths is 20% of the final mark. At Tiffin Girls it is 10%. Stage One English decides the invitation only.
Do we need to live near Tiffin?
In practice, yes. Tiffin School has given every place to boys within 10 km. Tiffin Girls has given every place to girls in its Designated Area of 44 postal districts since 2014.
Our child is in Year 5. When do we register?
Registration opened in early June this year, for Stage One in early October. Each school publishes next year's exact dates on its own site.
