Your Year 5 year, month by month

How the plan works

  • Each week adds up to exactly the time you choose. Miss a session and skip it: nothing carries over.
  • Skill sessions teach one topic, then practise it with fresh questions. Reading sessions build words and evidence.
  • The parent review is ten minutes to decide what comes next. A full mock is optional this autumn: the free check finds the starting point, and the Saturday 21 November mock day is there if you want a whole paper too.
  • The tests change the work: written routes add a model-answer session, Reading School gets broader thinking tasks.
