Questions parents ask

Is this the real Medway Test?

No. The real papers are never published. Every question here is our own, in the same GL question types.

Is the Medway Test the same as the Kent Test?

No. Medway sets its own test with its own papers, timings and scoring. Only Chatham Grammar accepts a pass in either.

What score passes?

For September 2026 entry the qualifying total was 481. The council sets each year's score after the test, so the 2027 score comes with results.

How much time does it take?

Ten minutes a lesson. Three or four a week finishes the lessons in a month.

Which schools use it?

Chatham Grammar, Fort Pitt, Holcombe, Rainham Mark, Sir Joseph Williamson's, Rochester Grammar.
