Free transfer test practice test
Six English grammar questions and seven maths questions, about a minute each. Then a parent report: where to start and three short sessions for this week.
13 questions · 13 minutes
Each subject has its own clock. Paper and a pencil help; no calculator. The clock shows test pace; the report works with whatever was answered.
| Section | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|
| English | 6 | 6:00 |
| Maths | 7 | 7:00 |
| Total | 13 | 13 minutes |
What you get
- A parent report the moment the practice test ends, no account: answers by paper, where to start, and three short sessions for this week.
- Print it or save it as a PDF. Saving to a free account is optional.
How the range is worked out
- English and maths are marked out of their questions and count equally, as on the real papers.
- We add one right and one wrong answer to each subject, so a short test never claims a perfect or a zero mark, and show one standard error either side, rounded out to 5%.
- The real test gives standardised scores from 138 to 282, with an average of 200. This mark is our practice measure, not a transfer test score.
- Thirteen questions give a wide range. A full mock paper covers far more of the test.
Questions
Is this an official paper?
No. The questions are our own, written to the official 2026 format and specification, and each one was solved independently. The official practice papers are free on the official website.
Is it like the real test?
The style is. Each real paper is 56 questions in 60 minutes: punctuation, grammar and spelling exercises, a passage, and maths, with 12 written answers. These are all multiple choice so they mark at once.
How long does it take?
13 minutes: 6 for English and 7 for maths.
Do we need an account?
No. A parent report shows straight away: answers by subject, where to start and three sessions for this week, to print or save as a PDF. A free account is optional; it keeps the report.
