The question types to practise
- Hidden words. A four-letter word hides across two words next to each other in a sentence.
- Opposites from two groups. Pick one word from each group of three: the pair most opposite in meaning.
- Missing three letters. Three letters in a row were taken out of a word in capitals. Which three-letter word goes back?
- Odd two out. Three of five words go together. Mark the two that do not.
- Figures alike. Which of five figures is most like the two on the left?
- Hidden shapes. Which diagram hides the target shape, possibly turned?
- Reading comprehension. A passage with line numbers, then questions on facts, meaning, word class and choose-two pairs.
- Maths problems. School maths in new situations: tables, money, measures and multi-step problems, with no calculator.
