Kent Test maths timing: practise pacing and timed sections
Maths starts with 5 minutes of practice questions, then 25 minutes for the questions that count.
How to pace the 25 minutes
- Work through in order, but don't let one question take the time of three.
- If you are stuck, choose your best answer, mark it, and move on.
- Every question is worth the same, so the quick ones matter as much as the hard ones.
- Keep a couple of minutes at the end to go back to the ones you marked.
- Fill in an answer for every question: there is nothing to lose by choosing one.
Practise against the clock
Short Kent-style sections at the test's pace show where the time went on every question.
