Free St Olave's 11+ practice test
Fourteen questions across the SET's four sections, then a parent report.
14 questions · 14 minutes
Each section has its own clock. Paper and a pencil help. The clock shows test pace; the report works with whatever was answered.
| Section | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|
| English | 3 | 3:00 |
| Mathematics | 4 | 4:00 |
| Verbal reasoning | 4 | 4:00 |
| Non-verbal reasoning | 3 | 3:00 |
| Total | 14 | 14 minutes |
What you get
- A parent report the moment the practice test ends, no account: answers by paper, where to start, and three short sessions for this week.
- Print it or save it as a PDF. Saving to a free account is optional.
How the range is worked out
- Each section is marked out of its questions and the four count equally, as in the school's sample paper.
- We add one right and one wrong answer to each section, so a short test never claims a perfect or a zero mark, and show one standard error either side, rounded out to 5%.
- The school ranks boys on its own marking after Stage 2. This mark is our practice measure, not a St Olave's score.
- Fourteen questions give a wide range. A full mock of both stages covers far more of the test.
Questions
Is this an official paper?
No. The questions are our own, in the style of the school's sample questions, and each one was solved independently. The school does not provide past papers.
Is it like the real test?
The styles are. The real SET is an hour of five-option multiple choice in four sections, on an answer sheet; the top 450 boys then sit written English and maths papers.
How long does it take?
14 minutes: 4 each for maths and verbal reasoning, and 3 each for English and the picture puzzles.
