Are there free 11+ past papers with answers? Real ones only from CSSE in Essex, which publishes its English, writing and maths papers for 2021, 2022 and 2023 entry, with mark schemes for English and maths.

A sample is not the real paper. Familiarisation shows the format. It says nothing about the difficulty of this year's test, and a mark on it is not a score.

Questions people ask

Are there free 11+ past papers with answers?

Real ones only from CSSE in Essex, which publishes its English, writing and maths papers for 2021, 2022 and 2023 entry, with mark schemes for English and maths. Most other tests publish familiarisation samples instead.

Does GL Assessment publish free 11+ papers?

GL publishes free familiarisation packs in English, maths, verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and two combined subjects. Each pack we opened has test booklets, answer sheets and a parent's guide with the answers.

Can I get Tiffin, QE or Henrietta Barnett past papers?

No. Tiffin School says it does not publish its own past papers, Queen Elizabeth's School does not release them, and Henrietta Barnett says it releases no past papers or Round Two resources. Tiffin publishes illustrative questions; QE and Henrietta Barnett point to GL's familiarisation.

Are ISEB Pre-Test past papers available?

ISEB says the Pre-Tests need no additional preparation and sells a Prep Pack. Common Entrance and scholarship past papers are sold as printed packs in the ISEB shop.

What it does

Real past papers where they exist, official familiarisation everywhere else, and whether each one comes with answers.

Materials published by the bodies that set or run 13 English 11+ tests, the ISEB Pre-Tests and Common Entrance: councils, schools, consortia, GL Assessment, Quest Assessments, CSSE and ISEB. Commercial practice papers are left out.

Method

  1. We started from each test's official admissions or test page and followed only the links it gives to practice or familiarisation material.
  2. We opened or downloaded every file on 27 September 2026 and recorded what it contains: a real past paper, familiarisation, sample questions, or a paid product; and whether it has answers.
  3. A resource is matched to a test only where that test's own page points to it. Where a school says it releases nothing, we show its own words instead of a substitute.
  4. We link to the publisher's copy. Nothing is copied or re-hosted.
